Share Investment Update

Updated: May 4, 2023

The Tremeirchion Community Pub Limited has successfully raised a total of £195,800 through share investments, which will be used to purchase the Salusbury Arms. This is an incredible achievement that demonstrates the strong support and commitment of the local community towards preserving a beloved pub.

It now means that not only does the project receive the £175,000 from the Community Ownership Fund, but we also have the extra funds to help the purchase, as well as progressing with any aspects requiring immediate attention once the purchase has gone through.

The Salusbury Arms has been an integral part of the village's social fabric for over 200 years. However, like many other community pubs across the UK, it was facing the threat of closure. That's when a group of passionate and proactive villagers came together to form the Tremeirchion Community Pub Limited, a community benefit society registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.

Through a series of events and community engagement initiatives, the Tremeirchion Community Pub Limited have been able to gather the necessary funds to purchase the asset. The £195,800 raised through share investments is a significant milestone towards achieving the goal of securing the future of the pub as a community-owned asset. The purchase will not only ensure the continued existence of the pub but also enable the community to have a say in how it is managed and run.

The Tremeirchion Community Pub Limited will be run democratically, with decisions being made through a one-member-one-vote system, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard and valued.

In conclusion, the Tremeirchion Community Pub Limited's successful fundraising campaign is a testament to the strength and resilience of the community spirit. By coming together and investing in the pub, we have demonstrated the commitment to preserving an important part of our heritage and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

In the coming days, everyone who has invested financially will receive an email providing confirmation of their shares. We will also continue to keep you updated on the progress of the purchase. Whether you have invested or not financially, we will be looking for volunteers to help with the ongoing works and we will welcome any offers.

We thank everyone for their continued efforts to create a thriving community-owned pub that serves as a hub for local social interactions and celebrations.

Thank you again, from everyone on the Steering Group 😁
